Mechanism of action
It binds to gp130/CNTFR/IL-6ST receptors, activating the JAK/STAT3 pathway, thereby promoting cell survival. It inhibits the pro-apoptotic protein BAX and blocks beta-amyloid toxicity. It has anti-diabetic effects by enhancing insulin signaling.
Reported research ranges
50–500 mcg subcutaneously daily or on alternate days.
Reported adverse effects
Limited safety data in humans. Well tolerated in preliminary studies.
Storage and handling
Refrigerate at 2–8 °C after reconstitution.
