- Mechanism of action
- Disrupts bacterial membranes through electrostatic interactions and forms lipid pores. Additionally, it activates FPRL1, TLR4, and P2X7 receptors, modulating pro-inflammatory cytokines and stimulating neutrophil chemotaxis.

- 100–500 mcg subcutaneously daily. Also available in topical formulations.

- Local irritation, erythema at the injection site. Risk of excessive inflammation at high doses.
