Mechanism of action
It accumulates in the inner mitochondrial membrane and binds to cardiolipin, stabilizing the respiratory chain complexes (I, III, IV, V). It reduces the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and optimizes ATP synthesis.
Reported research ranges
0.1–4 mg/kg subcutaneously daily (in clinical research).
Reported adverse effects
Well tolerated. Mild irritation at the injection site. No significant systemic effects.
Storage and handling
Refrigerate at 2–8 °C after reconstitution.
